Morris of Rutherglen Australian Whisky

Morris of Rutherglen brings a long wine heritage to Australian whisky. Based in north-eastern Victoria, the family winery dates back to 1859 and is especially well known for its fortified wines, a legacy that gives the whisky a distinctive point of difference. Rather than following a conventional Scotch-inspired model, Morris has built its identity around the character of Rutherglen and the use of casks shaped by the estate’s own fortified wine tradition.

The whisky itself is produced under the guidance of head distiller Darren Peck and is defined by a soft, fruit-led style layered with oak, spice and the influence of Australian fortified wine barrels. Core releases such as The Signature sit alongside cask-led expressions matured or finished in barrels that previously held styles such as Muscat and Apera, giving the range a clear regional character and a richer, more distinctive profile than many younger new-world malts.
