Gold Spot is a distinctive member of the Spot Whiskey family, created to mark 135 years of Mitchell & Son’s whiskey bonding heritage. Produced at Midleton Distillery in County Cork, it is a single pot still Irish whiskey that builds on the long connection between the Mitchell family and wine-cask maturation, a tradition that has helped define the wider Spot range.
The original Gold Spot release was matured for at least nine years in a combination of bourbon barrels, sherry butts, Bordeaux wine casks and port pipes, giving it a richer, more layered profile than many of its stablemates. The result is a whiskey that brings together ripe orchard and tropical fruit, sweet spice, polished oak and the creamy weight typical of well-made pot still spirit, while also reflecting the Mitchell family’s long-standing roots in wine and spirits merchandising.
